Herding Instinct Testing

April 28, 2007 and June 10, 2007

Would you like to know if your dog has herding instinct? Is herding something you would like to try but want to know if your dog has what it takes?
Have your dog's herding instict tested! All passing dogs will earn a HIC from the Australian Cattle Dog Club of Canada!

Cost:

$35/dog

Testing starts at noon and will carry on until at least 3pm. You must either pre-register, or be at Sheep Thrills Farm before 3pm on the day of testing. It is limited to 25 dogs, pre-registration guarntees a spot.

Herding Camp -Larry Painter & Lynn Leach

August 2 - 4, 2007

Lynn is one of the fundamental all-breed herders that made an impact on All-Breed herding in Canada. She was one of the orginal CKC herding committee that brought forth the CKC herding program. Lynn is one of the few "all-breed" pro-handlers / trainers in Canada. Her vast experiance with not only the upright "loose-eyed" breeds but also with the "strong-eyed" breeds, has allowed her to produce a very good series of all-breed herding training videos. Larry Painter is a well-respected and accomplished herder with a growing following of students both human and canine. His signature technique for a solid foundation is Rope, Rake, & Round Pen. Larry is also a herding judge for the American Kennel Club (AKC) and American Herding Breed Association (AHBA). His judging and instructing has taken him all over the world. Cost:

$700/dog

Auditing - $200/person

There will be NO refunds for cancellations unless spot has been filled by someone on a waitlist (does not apply for auditors). There is no discount for multiple dogs, switching dogs during clinic is not permitted unless cleared by the clinic host.**Please check with me if you have multiple dogs!

This is a camp, all meals are included as well, there are 2 AHBA trials for campers only! Each dog will get at least 3 runs per day. Campers will be helping out with chores (taking care of livestock, bringing in livestock, sorting livestock, helping set out meals etc.) Free on site camping. Sorry no hook ups. Limited number of entrants: Only twelve (12) openings.

Campers will be divided into 3 groups. Each group will have a session with Lynn and Larry and also have a supervised practice session as well.
